Located in southern Galicia, a north-western region of Spain, the region is best known for being the end of St. James' Way, a Christian pilgrimage route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela that has existed since the Middle Ages. With a population of around 300.000, Vigo is the largest city in Galicia, although the number of people who actually work, study and live in the city may reach half a million.The city is located close to the Portuguese border on the Atlantic coast and is well known as a privileged destination for cruise lines due to its beautiful bay and sandy beaches, as well as its excellent sea-food. Peinador is Vigo's airport (IATA code VGO) and has several daily direct flights to the international airports of

The airport is about 10 km from the centre of Vigo. The most comfortable way of reaching a destination in the city from the airport is to take a taxi, which costs about 25 Euro. There is also a bus (line C9A) that runs every hour and costs about 1.50 Euro.
